What Dinner Agent does. Dinner Agent keeps your pantry, this week’s dinners and one grocery list in step, for the whole household. Every dinner is checked against everyone’s allergies and diets. Chef, an AI personal chef, can plan your week, swap dinners, read receipts, import recipes and talk you through cooking.
Getting started
- Dinner Agent is for adults 18 and over. Pick your birthday, then sign in with Apple. Your birthday isn’t saved.
- Add the people in your household, with their allergies, diets and tastes.
- Chef’s AI is off until you say yes. Without it, your pantry, grocery list, weekly plan, recipes, cooking mode and allergy checks all still work.
Plans
- Free: pantry, grocery list, weekly plans, your recipes, cooking mode and allergy checks. Free includes 250 built-in recipes that change each month; Plus opens every recipe.
- Plus ($6.99 a month or $59.99 a year, US): Chef, receipt scans, recipe imports and Chef-written plans for the whole household, plus 5 call minutes a month.
- Chef Live ($4.99 a month or $44.99 a year, US): up to 30 minutes a month of calls with Chef.
- Plus + Chef Live ($9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, US): both together, with up to 30 call minutes a month.
- The price shown in the App Store before you buy is the one that applies. Unused minutes don’t carry over. Each plan has a fair monthly amount of AI use.
- Free week: new subscribers may get a free week from Apple, once per Apple Account for each subscription group. During the free week, Chef gives shorter answers and you get 2 minutes of calls in total. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you won’t be charged.
Cancel. iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the app under Settings → Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, so we can’t issue refunds ourselves. In the app, go to Settings → Refund policy → Request a refund, or visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Restore purchases. On a new phone or after reinstalling, open Settings → Get Plus and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. One subscription covers everyone in your household.
Sharing your kitchen. Settings → Share your kitchen → Invite someone. When they open the link, they share your pantry, plan, grocery list and recipes through iCloud. Chats and what Chef remembers stay on each person’s own phone.
Delete your account. Settings → Delete account. If you’re the last adult, your household’s record on our server is deleted too. Deleting doesn’t cancel a subscription, so cancel it with Apple first.
Important notices
- Chef is AI. Chef’s answers, plans, recipes, prices and voice, and what the app reads from receipts and recipes, come from AI and can be wrong. Check amounts, times and temperatures, and check scanned items and imported recipes before you save them.
- Allergies and food safety. Dinner Agent checks recipes against the allergies and diets you enter, by ingredient name. It can’t see cross-contact, “may contain” warnings or brand recipe changes, and it can’t guarantee a food is safe. Always read labels. Food safety guidance in the app comes from USDA. When in doubt, throw it out.
- Not medical or nutrition advice. Dinner Agent isn’t a medical tool and doesn’t give medical, dietary or nutrition advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian about allergies, diets and health conditions. In an emergency, call 911.
- Recipe photos are AI-generated images. They show what a dish could look like, not a photo of a real dish.
- Only import recipes you’re allowed to keep for your own use.
- Dinner Agent is provided under Apple’s standard licence agreement: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Troubleshooting
- Chef doesn’t answer: check that Chef is on (Settings → Chef) and you’re online. If your household reached its fair monthly limit, AI pauses until the 1st and everything else keeps working.
- Steps are read in a different voice: with Chef off, steps are read by your iPhone’s own voice. Turn Chef on to hear Chef’s voice.
- A call ends early: calls end when your minutes for the month run out, or when the free week’s 2 minutes of calls are used up.
- Plus isn’t showing: tap Restore purchases. If your purchase is waiting for approval (Ask to Buy), Plus turns on once it’s approved.
- No expiry alerts: turn on notifications for Dinner Agent in your iPhone’s Settings.
